Sensei Raso Hultgren
Sensei Hultgren, Shihan, 7th dan, began her Aikido training in 1971 and has served as Chief Instructor of Aikido of Missoula since 1990. A senior instructor with Aikido Schools of Ueshiba, she travels nationally to teach seminars while continuing her own lifelong study.
Legacy. Longevity. Joy.
Raso Sensei is a long-time student of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba O Sensei and founder of Aikido Schools of Ueshiba. She is also an original member of the Ueshiba Juku, a distinction granted to Saotome Shihan’s most senior students, carrying with it both direct lineage and the responsibility to transmit the Founder’s principles with integrity and care.

What sets Sensei Hultgren apart is not only her depth of experience, but her unmistakable joy on the mat. Her teaching is insightful, grounded, accessible, and deeply humane. She holds a driving belief that Aikido—its emphasis on harmony, presence, and nonviolent resolution—is not just relevant, but vital in today’s polarized and contentious world.

Whether you are a long-time practitioner or stepping onto the mat for the first time, training with Raso Sensei is both clarifying and energizing.
