Lisa Franceware
Secretary
Lisa moved to Durango from New Mexico. Prior to moving to Durango, she explored various martial arts. She loves the spirit and practice of aikido because it is a martial art that peacefully resolves conflict regardless of strength and body type. She enjoys exploring the minutia of the art and the practice of remaining centered as we move.

Doug Fults
Board Member
Roots in mountain soil,
Drawn to flowing paths of peace,
Ever refining.
A descendant of Colorado homesteaders, Doug "returned home" with his wife, Lora, to raise their family in the mountains. Invited to an Aikido class by his ski buddy and Aikidoka of 35 years, Sensei Philip Riffe, he was immediately drawn to the elegant, flowing movements of the practice and the welcoming community at the dojo. Today, he finds inspiration in the "continuous refinement" of the art — the lifelong process of polishing one’s technique and spirit.
